Blood Bank Demonstration 05/05/10

Blood bank demo

We held our first blood bank demonstration outisde the Birmingham Blood Doner Centre on May 5th 2010. The demo was a great way to raise awareness to those going into the centre as well as all the people passing by on the busy city centre high street. We stagged some 'blood' pouring scenes to show just how much blood could have been donated on that day had the blood ban been lifted. Green Party candidate Phil Simpson for Birmingham Edgbaston was there to show his support along with thier Media Officer, Lizzy Sherman. We would like to once again thank them for coming and we fully support the Green's manifesto policy to lift the blood ban on gay and bisexual men (Read Caroline Lucas, The Green Party Leader's response to a blood ban question here)
